Lupe Fiasco - “Lasers”
“Its funny before reading the review I didn't know about the circumstances surrounding the album, yet knowing who lupe has been and listening to this album, I predicted that this was an album that later on down the road he would admit he didn't enjoy making. For the most part this is a solid album. The highlights of this album are really high! All black everything is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Words I never said is a classic as well. However when I listen to Show Goes on, and I don't wanna care right now, I have to wonder who would ok those songs? Certainly not the cat that wrote the last two Masterpiece Albums. There are a few songs I'm on the Fence about, , "Until I get there", "Coming up" "Break The chain" I can listen to this album's great tracks, but its not a fluent listening experience as his other albums were. This may go down as lupe's "Nastradamas " record. Being that its only twelve songs more than half of them are dope enough to play at least for now. I'll go with 4 stars! Top 5 1.All Black Everything 2.Words I never Said 3.Break The Chain 4 I'm Beamin 5. Shining Down Top5 1” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Mariah Carey - “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”
“This album came out of nowhere. Did anyone see this coming? This is by far he best album since the 90s. I didn't skip a single song on this album. Not one. I been listening to it ever since I bought it. From the lyrics to the incredible production. This album is a must have. Kanye look over ya shoulder fam, Dream and Tricky are on ya coat tail. They put together another musical masterpiece with this album. My Fav 5 in no particular order are as follows. 1.H.A.T.E.U 2.The Impossible (the reprise is insane) 3.Languishing 4.Standing O 5.Betcha Gon know I also gotta mention that her version of "I want to know what love is" is on fire! Love this album.” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Kid CuDi - “Man on the Moon: The End of the Day”
“This is an extremely artistic and honest album. It's refreshing to hear a new artist come out wearing his emotions on his sleeves, leaving himself open. While listening to this album, I felt many emotions, one being triumph, listening to Heart of a Lion and My World , Sadness listening to Sky Might fall and Soundtrack 2 my life, Hope while experiencing Pursuit of Happiness, and Cudi Zone. This was a well put together dream that introduces us to the newest star out of the GOOD music camp. Something that yall may find strange is my obsession with Hyyerr! I honestly believe that song is the theme song to my life. I have listened to that song over 38 times in 6 days. I know kinda strange, but it is clearly one of my favorite songs of all time. I can't say the same for that trash Enter Galactic which to me is this songs = to Sex 4Suga (from Common's Universal Mind Control Album). However Cudi Zone Day 'n' Nite, In my dreams, and Alive are just dope enough to balance out that horrid song from ruining my rating of this album. Fact is, this album is not for everyone, but if you are me, then you dig this! 4.5 1 Hyyerr 2 Pursuit of Happiness 3 In My Dreams 4 My World 5 Cudi Zone” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Jay-Z - “The Blueprint 3”
“YEA Mr. Top Hat the beat to Reminder was trash, and I didn't really like On to the next one, but other than that, this album was straight. D.O.A is the headliner, but in my opinion Empire State of mind is the soul of this album. Already Home is heart of this album. So ambitious is the Inspiration here. Young Forever is the Gut of this album. Of corse you have the radio ready tracks like Off That and Run this town, which do bang without question. My favorite song however is none of these, my fav is the Weapon of the Album, What we talkin about. That song is so raw. A star is born, is simply on the album to win back supporters he may have lost with DOA in my opinion also not one of my favs. Already home is another classic joint that reminds us all that rather he is on top of rap or not, he has conquered it and so much more all b4 the age of 50. Love him or leave him alone. Regardless he is still the most powerful man in Hip hop, maybe in music period. This is not a classic album by any means, but it is a solid one, Sad thing about it, is not many of us can relate to Jigga anymore, he's in a atmosphere successfully that most of us will never see. I think that is why so many seem to resent him these days. Never the less after watching that concert 9/11 all his haters were silenced, doubters left believers, and fans left in awe. For that alone he gets a star. ( Where is Victory? He sung it for the President and didn't put it on the album???) 1.What We talking bout 2 So Ambitious 3 Empire State of Mind 4 Already Home 5 Run this town” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nipsey Hussle - “Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 3”
“I'm listenin to that bucketheads track and that shit is insane. Nipsey seems to be the Next out of my city. He is making a strong push lately with all these bangers he hit us with in a quick flurry. The production he is rhyming over is great on this mixtape. His style as well as his distinctive voice works well on them. This is without a doubt something that makes me proud. WESTSIDE!!!!! I can't find a song on here that ain't on point not 1 but here are 5 of my favs. This may be the best west coast album since, My Ghetto Report Card by E 40. What you think? 1.PAYBACK 2.Bucketheads 3.Shed a Tear 4. CEO 5.The Hustle Way” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

XV - “Everybody's Nobody”
“This album is my joint. Why is all the best albums free? XV exceeded all of my expectations and then some. I would have been happy to pay full price for this new school classic joint. My fav 5 are as follows in no order. 1. Come back down 2.Now Look 3.The Rabbit Hole 4.Undeniable 5In Due Time (new version of one of my fav songs of all time Outkast and Goodie mob) I have to mention how complete this work is, from his lyrics, delivery, production, to the guests holding their weight. This is about as perfect as a mixtape can get.” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tech N9ne - “Sickology 101”
“This album is far better than I would have ever ima@ined. Stran@e as hell, but incredible at the same time. First off, is it just me or did he dedicate an entire verse to Keisha Cole airin@ her out as a spoiled bi@ headed Celeb? I remember this dude from a son@ I loved as a kid and still love till this day. "Questions" off of the @an@ Related Soundtrack. His fast flow was ill as fuck which was ri@ht up my ally bein@ that all I listened to was BONE and 2pac back then. He is finally @ettin the attention he deserves as a killer MC and a talented musician. This album had a few bumbs in the road, " Sorry N shit"lived up to it's name, but for the most part this album lived up to these ratin@s. I have to check out some of his past work now. My favz are... 1.Blown away 2.Midwest Choppers 3. Far Away 4 Nothin 5. Sickolo@y 101 The beats on this album remind me of the when the first time I heard E-40's My @hetto Report Card/ That album is Classic as a MF and this one is not Quite there, but why the fuck would I mess up this perfect raitin@. Call it a 4.5” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Asher Roth - “Asleep In The Bread Aisle”
“Yea man! Asher came outta nowhere fast. I was weary of another white rapper who sounds like Em, but this kid is FAR from. His content and skill are undeniable. Most importantly, he's authentic, and that is more than we can say about 90% of these rappers. This album has a few slip ups in my opinion, She don't want a man and Lion's Roar and Blunt Crusin are the 3 that I skip. Other than that this is a full playthrou@h. My top 5 from the bottom up are... 5. Fallin 4. The Loun@e 3. As I Em 2. La Di Da 1. His Dream” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ludacris - “Theater Of The Mind”
“Nathan I would say you are crazy comparing him to Jigga about a year ago, but lately jig has been working very hard to dumb his lyrics completely down. So on that note I'm kinda down on him. However I'm very high on Ludacris. This album is hard hitting. Listening to some of the songs that were leaked I felt like he would let me down with this one. His last album was his best in my opinion. This one however is very good.I get the feeling that luda wants to solidify himself as one of the greats with this album. I'm not sure he did that from a lyrical standpoint, but he certainly gave us something worthy of buying and bumping. I enjoyed most of the tracks on this. Two tracks were ones to skip for me, Southern Gangsta and Everybody Hates Chris were too I couldn't feel other than that, this is a solid listen. My favs have to be, "I do it for Hip Hop" One More Drink, Undisputed, That hard hitting Intro that luda always seems to hit us with. Nasty Girl (One of the coldest beats Swiss has EVER done) and Do the right thing which I hope Spike uses on his next flick. It sounds like a theme song to one of his classics. This album is not Classic in my opinion, but that is not stopping me from playing it as we speak.” BDF44's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
