ChrisP_TX's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

“The beat is kinda generic, like a variation of what a lot of tracks coming out lately sound like, BUT GIBBS DESTROYED THIS SHIT! I think/hope CTE will provide a great platform for him to be heard by many more, but this dude is, by far, better than everyone in the camp... Must suck to be U.S.D.A.”

“I'm fucking with this one, reminds me of the feel I got when I listened to "Great Depression" back in '09. Someone please give this dude a deal (one that includes his albums actually coming out).”

Trae The Truth Trae The Truth - “Slammin’ Doorz”

“Let me speak from a TX POV. Yes, I have never felt Trae was really a standout artist, especially solo on a track, but he does well with collabos (i.e. A.B.N. albums). It's something I'm going to download and ride to, and as someone that expects lyricism, I'm feeling the beat and the lyrics, while are not intricate, etc., they are honest and relatable, at least to someone from TX. As for the "there are other artists from TX that would have done better," yeah, I could see that. But it's Trae's song, he would have had to still be on it. Lil' Keke or Z-ro of Scarface would have killed it and probably stole the show. Buck is a good rapper and had a nice showing, so I'm satisfied with the track. Its a ride to song, mello and melodic, therefore a TX heavyweight on the track would have changed the vibe. Also, as much as it pains me to say this, @ltg2121 Bun is not the Bun we grew up on anymore, and has significantly declined when it comes to subject matter and delivery. I'm giving this a 3.5, but stars-wise, I have to round up rather than down.”
