JaykGreg's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

Omarion Omarion - “I Get It In”

“I actually like the version with Lil Wayne better, but this is still a good song...in my opinion. This is something totally different on O's part, but I think it just might work in his favor. When I first heard it I wasn't really feeling it, but I listened to it a 2nd time and caught myself vibing to it. Maybe I'm a little bias cause I'm a fan of Omarion's, but that doesn't matter. Overall this is a hit or miss record for him. I def think he's taking a risk with this song and either people will fall in love with it or hate it.”

Game Game - “Bang Along”

“This sounds as if it could be a hood anthem. This is def something that i expected to come from The Game. This is a straight REAL song for people in the hood. I'm def feeling it and could see myself listening to it again. I'd put it on the pod just to have it on there. Classic Hood Song.”

Eminem Eminem - “Old Time's Sake”

“Initially the production on here grabs my attention. It def has that classic Dre feel to it. In my opinion its not a song that i hear and say.."man i gotta here that sh*t again!!" But its certainly not a bad song. Far from it. Eminem always comes correct to me. No matter what he does. I usually like all of his stuff. I'm ready for the Relapse to be released. Eminem is here to show people why he's one of the greatest.”

Unladylike
Unladylike - “Dough”

“Being from the Lou I have to give them a higher rating than i would have...i don't even have to do that cause this song is staright FIRE! It's a straight club song...i can picture everyone from my school straight clowning to this song. Class of 09'!! (had to throw that in) Its real catchy and it got that straight crunk vibe. I can see dances on youtube being made to this song. CRank dat D'uh!!! Lol...oh i had to laugh at my little joke.”

Johnta Austin
Johnta Austin - “Take It Back”

“I'm excited to hear from Johnta Austin. He's a great producer/songwriter and i loved his song "Turn It Up" even though it didn't get any attention. The production def attracts me right off the bat. I get a smooth/sexy vibe from it. At some parts I'm really feeling it then there may be a part or two where my vibe is messed up, but then it comes right back. Vocals are good and lyrics/theme are quite common. I'm not sure if this has single quality or not. I personally like it and if it came on the radio I would listen to it and I'd prob request it, but as far as everyone else I'm not sure. This would def be a song for the older crowd. The youngens won't be into it so I guess its up to the "grown folks" to make it a hit or not.”

cas One cas One - “Flashbacks ft. Brother Ali”

“This song creates a really mellow/chill vibe for me. I kind of just want Cas One to be quiet so i can just listen to the music. As I continue to listen to the song I'm actually enjoying it. Cas One's flow def isn't bad. His flow and this song is def commercial...in a good way/i think the public would feel him. It has a certain spark to it...i'm interested in hearing more. Whoah...i totally thought something was wrong with my computer when i started to hear this piano playing...nice touch...i really like it/it puts me in a certain mood. (that was def my fav part of that song)”

Chrisette Michele Chrisette Michele - “What You Do ft. Ne-Yo”

“Chrisette Michele isn't typically someone that I'd really listen to. Her voice is def different from what's out there right now, and that's a good thing. I'm kind of feeling this...she sort of sounds like Fantasia and her lyrics remind me of something Jasmine Sullivan would sing about. Neyo is certainly a good look on here. His voice meshes well with the production and hers. Her voice def stands out so having a singer like Neyo who's voice isn't overpowering was a smart move. This song is def for the older crowd and should get a lot of play in lounges. Overall i like it and its going on the pod.”

Redd Hott
Redd Hott - “Glide For Me ft. Bobby V”

“Bobby V sound really nice on here. His voice fits the production perfectly. Wow, I didn't think this was a reggae type song. I'm really not a fan of reggae music, but this isn't all that bad. Bobby V. def adds that crossover affect to the song. From a creative standpoint i think that was a smart move. Although i can't really understand what he's saying I'm feeling the chorus and the overall song is hot.”

Colin Munroe Colin Munroe - “Piano Lessons ft. Joell Ortiz”

“I've never listened to one of his songs and this def does not dissapoint. I like how he infuses his voice with a childs voice on here. Thats def creative. I like the chorus on here and the production. its a chill lay back type of song. When you're in a sluggish mood and you don't want to get out of it just play this record. I'm really feelin it...it makes me want to listen to other songs by him. Joell is cool on here....nothing special.”

Trick Daddy
Trick Daddy - “What Dey Do ft. BadGuy (of the Dunk Ryders) & Desloc”

“I instantly know the song is going to be grimy...the production is so gritty and hardcore. It sort of brings back memories of the Lil Jon song "Neva Eva" with Lil Scrappy on it. Something about the beat sounds similar to it...i just can't key point it though. There was a point and time where this type of music was all you heard...back in 2000-2004. I def miss that type of music. The vibe of the song and Trick daddy is like a perfect match. I can't see him on any other type of song except songs like these and those "i love the hood" heartfelt songs. He's just straight hood and i love it. This song is straight hood and i love it.”

LMFAO
LMFAO - “La La La”

“When I see there picture I instantly think..."this is going to be so wack", but it's not. I actually like it. It hyas a nice techno/pop vibe that's really in and it's def catchy. Will it be getting plays in the black communiy....no; maybe a select few will listen but i def see the white community going crazy over this song...especially in the clubs. I really like the song and my fav part is at 2:05 when the song kind of sounds like you're standing outside of a club and you hear the music a certain way. Its incred fresh and it's def going on the pod. Repeat status in my mind.”

Lady Sovereign
Lady Sovereign - “Pennies”

“The production on here is really nice. Its creative and addictive. I think I'm liking this more than i should just because I like Lady Sovereign. I instantly know its going to go on the pod...its somethinf i'd def listen to more than once. I love her "F*** You" attitude...it adds something different to her music.”

Rick Ross Rick Ross - “Maybach Music Pt. 2 ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne, & T-Pain”

“The production on here is def fresh and smooth. I'm really feeling the vibe from this song. T-Pain gives an expected feature on here. It was def nice...i liked it. Kanye & Wayne were firre in my opinion. I love them both and this was just an overall hot collabo. Rick Ross is never someone that I really be feeling, but I always give him his props. This song will def be going on the pod.”

Eminem Eminem - “We Made You”

“I saw this video the other day and it's hilarious!!! Let me just say I LOVE Eminem. He's def in my top 5. Anyway, this song is def something that I would expect from him. He's def not one to hold his tounge and he's not afraid of controversy. This fits his funny and comedic demeanor. I love when Em comes out with playful songs like this. I love his really serious songs as well, but his funny ones are just as great. He contains the perfect formula for a great rapper. I love all sides of him. This is a straight banger in my book and it'll be all over the radios soon.”

Wiz Khalifa Wiz Khalifa - “Starstruck (Freestyle)”

“I'm really feeling the production on this. I love Wiz Khalifa so anything I see him on i instantly want to listen to it. He brought a nice amount of swagga on this freestyle and his syntax on here is crazy. Overall I'm feeling it and it's a straight banger for me.”
