Big Sean Big Sean - “G.O.O.D. Music Cypher”

“I'm type baffled by anyone who says Common didn't deliver here. I think it's the fact that sometimes we already feel like we gotta point out who was the least best, but I don't think that exists here. G.O.O.D Music is just exactly what the name implies. Everyone killed it. Big Sean sounds like FF1 and FF2 Sean again, CyHi Da Prynce has rose up on my radar in the past two weeks faster than any other new rapper in my recent memory. He's just been on a roll and hasn't disappointed yet. But let's not give Common that shaft like that. I'm not saying give him a pass because he's a veteran; I'm saying he doesn't need a pass at all, because he genuinely smashed this. Fam, fam, fam, he's a monster too... "I recognize game like the Espys, cold to myself, I say God Bless me..." "The name is Common, but the frame is special..." "The body of the black party from Farley to Bob Marley, go home or go hard, and home is like hardly..."”

Drake Drake - “Fancy (Remix)”

“I have to disagree Z. I feel that Drake's performance at the VMAs was one of the best. I didn't think so at first, but after watching it again, it was definitely a monumental performance. Mary is such a legend and seeing her perform just got me excited for her music again; so much so that I dedicated about a week to listening to her full discography. The VMAs were overall boring and I think this performance was one of the few exciting moments of the night aside from Kanye's performance; which wasn't uber-impressive either. I'd almost say that I like this version better than the album one...”

10 Seconds Promo Photo Jazmine Sullivan - “10 Seconds”

“Any Mary and/or Lauryn comparisons regarding this woman should only be received positively. She has the talent to back it up. By the looks of it, she received the Mary J. Blige cosign on that "Holding You Down" remix, so it's obvious that Mary embraces this new young talent. Now that is how a legend is supposed to react to something like this; unlike what Lil Kim did regarding Nicki Minaj. I've never purchased an R&B album in the my life. I haven’t really been into post-2000s R&B too much, because the 90s is where it’s at for R&B, but you better believe she will be getting my money on November 2nd...”

RIght Above It Promo Photo Lil Wayne - “RIght Above It”

“I can actually see this smashing the radio for some reason. I thought that Drake went in on this; regardless if it was his Tim Westwood verse. The verse was ill then, and it's ill now. But does anybody notice how the instrumental/production sounds a lot like "Ransom" on some parts? But this was nice. I wonder what this Lil Wayne EP is all about...either way, it should be interesting. Weezy...”

Just a Dream Promo Photo Nelly - “Just a Dream”

“I swear, you can always count on the people who come to DJBOOTH.NET to listen to music to know GOOD music. I was a Nelly fan way back in the day ("Country Grammar" was the first rap album I ever owned). I've continued to be a mild fan throughout his career; and was sad to see him fall off in the past couple years (if you remember back to like 2001, Nelly was what Drake is now...). But when I heard this, I'm thinking he just may make a more mature and triumphant comeback (something we've just recently witnessed from Eminem). Speaking of Eminem, was I was the only who peeped how this Nelly joint could be a double meaning; using "her" as being symbolic for a woman, but also the "hip-hop" or "music" game? (Similar to one of Eminem's newest records "25 to Life" on his RECOVERY album); especially with lines like "I was at the top, and now it's like I'm in the basement, #1 Spot, now she found a replacement." Either way, I dig it and I'm eager to see what Nelly comes with next... Sidebar: Jim Jonsin's production was pretty dope, but it sounded like a hybrid of Wyclef Jean's "Sweetest Girl" and Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie". LOL. Just sayin'...”

TIghtrope (Wondamix) Promo Photo Janelle Monáe - “TIghtrope (Wondamix)”

“Man, I liked the original of this and I've gave Janelle's album a spin and I liked it. Her hook sounded awkward on this remix version though. B.o.B killed this! Lupe did as well, as usual. The mixing on his verse was weird though. B.o.B and Janelle definitely outshined Lupe Fiasco on this record, and that is RARE... Still hot...”
