Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang Promo Photo Raekwon - “Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang”

“Great album, you know what you are getting with Raekwon albums - ghetto stories over great production. Not as good as OBFCL2 but better than 99% of the albums out today. Snake Pond is my favorite on here.”

ReturnOf4Eva Promo Photo Big K.R.I.T. - “ReturnOf4Eva”

“Classic album IMO. Its 21 tracks long so not all of them are going to be classics themselves, but if you were to just take the top 12 tracks you would have an album of nothing but gems. Im glad KRIT didnt do that though because every track is quality. My favorite is Highs and Lows. Everybody can connect to that song. What I like most about this album is that it is truly an album and not just a loose collection of songs. That is something that is missing from hip hop today.”

Apollo Kids Promo Photo Ghostface Killah - “Apollo Kids”

“Ghetto, Purified Thoughts, and In the Park are three of my favorite ghost tracks ever. I think the abundance of guest features brings down the album - we really didnt need Game, Sheek, and Juelz. Not his best work but a solid effort. My fav ghost albums are still: Ironman Supreme Clientele Pretty Tony”

“My favorite R&B release of this year. Beautiful music the whole way through. Not a track I would skip. Curl up with your significant other and press play on this gem.”

Villa Manifesto Promo Photo Slum Village - “Villa Manifesto”

“I was really surprised by this album. Its solid the whole way through with Lock it Down, Faster, The Setup, and Where Do We Go From Here being my favorites.”

Trill O.G. Promo Photo Bun B - “Trill O.G.”

“Pretty good album, but nowhere near classic. The source is buggin. My favorite tracks are Its Been a Pleasure and Real Live (good mixtape track). However tracks like Sexting and the one with Gucci are pretty poor. This could have been a classic if he cut it down to 10-12 tracks.”

The ArchAndroid Promo Photo Janelle Monáe - “The ArchAndroid”

“Fuego said it best - this album is Mind-Boggling. Somehow she mixes all these different styles and influences together and comes out with a cohesive album. Incredible...classic. I love Neon Valley Street and Cold War.”

I Want You Promo Photo Theophilus London - “I Want You”

“I disagree, I think this album is incredible. 19 tracks and almost every one is interesting. My favorites are: Flying overseas Light Years No Answers Starry Eyed Sorry to Interupt Understood All of these are 5 star tracks IMO. Near classic album.”

A Love Supreme 2.0 Promo Photo U-N-I - “A Love Supreme 2.0”

“Real solid album, you could listen to it the whole way through. Beautiful Day is still my favorite track from UNI so I am little disappointed to not see a track with that type of vibe on the album. Also the subject matter is pretty one dimensional, which is not a big deal, but a little variety would have helped. If you have the mixtape then you have most of these tracks, but the new ones are some of the best ones on the album - i.e. Land of the Kings.”

Concrete Jungle Promo Photo Nneka - “Concrete Jungle”

“Im a huge fan of this album, some of the tracks are incredible and only a few are any less than average. Real solid effort from Nneka.”

4:57 Mixtape Promo Photo Laws - “4:57 Mixtape”

“Real solid album and one of my favorites so far this year. Verse 2 of "Hustler" is out of control. There are only a couple of misses on this project (which Nathan pointed out) but the rest are hits. Not my favorite rapper yet, but im not counting him out either.”

Boy Meets World Promo Photo Fashawn - “Boy Meets World”
