2012 McDonald’s Flavor Battle

The Flavor Battle is a McDonald's 365 Black initiative that supports Hip-Hop culture and the future stars of the industry. These future stars went head-to-head for the last three months on flavorbattle.com for a chance to rep their region at the 2012 Flavor Battle Finale. The Flavor Battle was hosted by beatbox legend, Doug E. Fresh and held at Cameo Theatre in Miami Beach on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Only the top three DJ's with the most votes went to the final event to battle it out for the $10,000 grand prize. Check out how it all went down inside....

Denon DJ SC3900 Confirmed

After teasing everyone with a quick video with DJ Switch showing off the scratching prowess of a new machine, Denon DJ has finally let the cat out of the bag! Introducing the newest Multi-Media player form Denon DJ dubbed the SC3900. The SC3900 looks very similar to the current Denon DN-S3700 with a few more MIDI and controller buttons for the DJ software users. The SC3900 will be able to play CD's, USB flash/hard drives, SD Cards (speculation), and will have a Traktor mapping from the factory to support the new Cue/Sample buttons in the upper left hand corner of the unit. NAMM 2012: Alesis MIDI Keyboards

Alesis has announced three new USB MIDI keyboard controllers at this year's NAMM show in California. The Q-series USB MIDI controllers can easily connect to any Mac, PC, iOS devices and other MIDI modules, samplers, and synthesizers. There is a Q61 (a 61-key controller), a QX61 (a 61-key controller with programmable drumpads, knobs, and faders), and a QX25 (a 25-key controller with drumpads, knobs and buttons). NAMM 2012: Samson Stage 266 Dual Wireless Microphones

Samson has just released a few new products for the NAMM 2012 show, but my favorite of the bunch is the Stage 266 Dual Wireless Microphone system. This dual VHF transmitter has a volume knob for each microphone and each handheld microphone runs on a 9-Volt battery that is good for a 10-hour run time. They are advertised as having the best clarity amongst most wireless microphone systems. Perhaps we will get a set in the lab for a full video review. Check out the press release inside....
