Stanton S-550 User Reviews

When my S-650 was being repaired I used a S-550 as a replacement.  For the most part it the same unit minus the seamless loop.  The S-550 has a loop, but since it is not seamless it really has no use that I can see.  Possibly the only other difference I noticed is that hitting play after setting a cue did not seem to react as fast in starting the track.  This made mixing a little more troublesome than on the 650.  Overall Stanton’s S-550 is still a good buy since you get almost everything on the 650 but for about 100 dollars less. - DJ Spiff

I like that it is user friendly and the features are good but this player has a problem playing some burned CD’s - DJ Mic

Generally, the unit performs well. However, and I’ve noticed this with a few other dual cd players, that sometimes the left player will not read the cd. What I used to do was to turn the unit off and on again and the conditon would go away later to return as though something was wrong in the firmware. If anyone else has had this problem I’d be greatful in hearing from you and what can be done to correct this problem. - Bill Navarro
