The M44-7 is a great cartridge for hip hop and scratch DJs. When I first got mine, I was a little disappointed in the scratch resistance. However, once I broke them in, it became extremely difficult to make them skip. There output is perfect for hip hop, with punchy base and an extremely loud, resonant sound. The Shure M447 cartridge is recommended for any scratch DJ.
