Here is my review on the Denon DNX-1100 mixer. I have had this mixer for about month and 1/2. I am comming from a DNX-1500s. Why would I go backwards considering model numbers. When I initially bought the 1500s it was a package deal I could not refuse. Upon getting it home I noticed the terrible hiss coming out the the unit. Called Denon they said I didn't have my gains up right.(yeah ok I've been a dj for 20 years I think I know how to set my gains). So I wasn't really happy with this mixer. The effects were ok but I just didnt like the short up faders and how the whole unit sounded.
I go to my local dj store to see if they the new Denon Dns-3700 in stock for me to play with. It was right there when i walk in the shop setup with a whole Denon setup 2 3700's and 1100 mixer. I really wanted to see how the 3700's stacked up. I loaded 2 usb sticks and went to town. I had the owner of the store boppin his head to what I was playing.
The mixer is awesome the bigger que buttons, the upfader curve is adjustable and so is the crossfader. The longer throw of the upfaders and the 3 band eq kills. This mixer is scratch worthy, I performed a few scratches the fader kept up. Switching back and forth from serato to regular cd was simple and the matrix input is a dream.
The overall sound quailty is much better in my opinion than the 1500s. The headphone section is clear and loud. This mixer has plenty of headroom.
All in all I don't miss my 1500s at all. I didn't like the the effects at all. This a real good sounding 4 channel analog mixer for the price and value. Hope i help with someone's decision on purchasing this unit.
