The Pioneer DJ Division’s new Flagship Serato DJ controller called the Pioneer DDJ-SZ retains many of the features and functions of the widely popular DDJ-SX, while adding more real estate for a bigger and more professional footprint, bigger full “CDJ-sized” jog wheels, Multi-Color Backlit Performance Pads, Dual USB Ports for seamless transitions, a magnetic MAGVEL crossfader, and a full-blown DJM mixer section with Sound Color FX and DVS capability.
The Brand new Numark NV Controller promises to change the game by adding two 4.3-inch full color displays above each jog wheel deck so that users can see waveforms, cue points, loops, music libraries, effects, and all the other important visual information in Serato so that DJ’s can put the laptop away for good. Allen & Heath’s newest modular MIDI controller called the Xone:K1 is essentially a Xone:K2 MIDI controller but without the built-in stereo soundcard interface and MIDI layering capabilities. The Xone:K1 is a universal MIDI controller that can be mapped/programmed to work with any DJ software and it has six push-button rotary encoder knobs, 12 knobs, four faders, and 30 three-color backlit performance buttons to take precise control over specific software functions. The new Reloop Beatmix 4 is an entry to intermediate-level four deck digital DJ controller that comes bundled with the full Serato DJ experience. This new controller is mainly entry level in price while providing the full Serato DJ software experience (for a limited time), full RGB backlit performance pads, and aluminum-top jog wheels with an LED light ring for needle position monitoring.
Pioneer DJ has released the DDJ-SP1 USB MIDI controller that is designed to work in conjunction with the new Serato DJ 1.5+ software so users can trigger new effects and samples with the 16 velocity-sensitive performance pads, buttons, and knobs in a nice compact package. The DDJ-SP1 is designed to be used as a “sub-controller” that works in conjunction with a primary Serato DJ controller or a Mixer+DVS setup to offer the advanced features found on the popular Pioneer DDJ-SX controller to all Serato DJ users.

The Pioneer DDJ-SR is a compact and professional Digital DJ Controller that fits nicely within the new Pioneer DDJ controller range as a trimmed down two-deck version of the DDJ-SX which is still capable of controlling all four virtual decks of Serato DJ. The new Pioneer DDJ-SR has a smaller footprint than the DDJ-SX and adds a new PAD PLUS button that gives the 16-performance pads even more functions than before.
