Pioneer DJ5000 Staff Review

The Pioneer DJ5000 headphones are high quality headphones at a good price. The DJ5000 offers excellent sound quality and high output. Features include swiveling earpieces, folding design, and a coiled cord. In addition the Pioneer DJ5000 comes with a clip on input holder (mic), and a stereo/mono switch. The Sony DJ5000 headphones' ability to switch to mono is useful when mixing with only one earpiece on, since you know your listening to the entire output and not just half of it when you put only one earpeice on.

I have been producing and DJing for well over 10 years now and I have owned a pair of these headphones for the majority of my career. I have also owned headphones buy Sony and Fostex as well as other companies. These, the Pioneer se-dj5000's, are the only pair that were able to physically withstand over 8 years of use without breaking. Moreover, Pioneer put more consideration for the user into this pair of headphones than any of the competition! The belt clip, shoulder pad 1/8th inch plug and folding design are are all wonderful features and only half of these features are given by other companies with comparable headphones. Even Pioneer does not offer those features in their recent models; i.e. the belt clip and shoulder pad. ALL these mentioned features take a second seat to the sound quality these headphones offer! Excellent pair of head phones! I bought a second pair a week ago! The pair I had for 8 years finally started to crack around the top, easy fix with some tape and they were shorting out at the plug, not and easy fix but I fixed them for less that five bucks! Other headphones i've had have completely broken and been discarded after they stopped working. One more thing, they are also great for home studio use! If you don't have a booth these are great because the music does not bleed through the microphone into your recorded vocals, "Closed Design!" This is important if you want to have the option to use the vocal tracks again for remixing purposes! Overall, these are a wonderful pair of phones for the money! Great Buy!
