Korg’s New Apps
Korg has just introduced three new Apple Apps that will allow musicians to create and edit their own music while on the go. First up, there is the iKaossilator for the apple products that uses the touchscreen to mimic the functions of the original Kaoss Pad synth. The iMS-20 allows users to create music using a full mixer, effects, and drum parts. The iElectribe Gorillaz Edition for the iPad uses a virtual analog beatbox to make song creation easy and fun. Each has been designed to offer users the ability to create and edit their own tunes in the easiest and highest-quality way, while on-the-go.
iKaossilator for iPhone® 2.0 (also compatible with iPad® and iPod Touch®) – Just announced-version 2.0 for iKaossilator. iKaossilator takes advantage of your iOS device’s touchscreen to mimic the functions of an X-Y touchpad. This synthesizer tool offers 150 diverse sounds, and is controlled by touching, sliding or tapping a finger on the onscreen X-Y touchpad, which allows users to quickly create, loop and stack musical phrases regardless of their experience. iMS-20 Version 1.5 – Korg’s ground-breaking recreation of one of their most coveted vintage synthesizers, the MS-20, this app offers deep analog-style sound creation, along with a healthy assortment of recording features including a full mixer, effects and even drum parts. Users can also control iMS20 with external MIDI controllers via Apple’s USB Camera Connection Kit, and can even share the songs they create via the SoundCloud online audio sharing network. $32.99 – iTunes
iElectribe Gorillaz Edition iPad 1.5 – Building upon their first app entry (iElectribe), Korg more recently collaborated with the popular virtual band Gorillaz to reenergize the interface and sound set to match their eclectic style. This virtual analog beatbox for iPad® makes song creation easy, fun and intuitive. Users simply choose from several built in sounds and samples, and simply tap their way to groove creation. $9.99 – iTunes (Limited 10,000)
