Serato Flip is finally here with the new Serato DJ update. With Serato Flip, DJ’s and producers will be able to save their hotcue, censors, edits, and track mashups so the creation can be recalled on the fly with a push of a single button. Users can save up to six Serato Flips per track and I had a blast using this new feature at the Atlantic City DJ Expo last month. Serato HQ shows us how to use Serato Flip in this new video walkthrough.
In this week’s video series I’ll share with you what I do outside of the DJ world and the other hobbies and interests that I am involved with. I’ve been a DJ since about 11 years old, but I also have many other duties and a totally separate way of making a living that most people don’t know about. Check out this quick video and let us know how you manage to juggle DJ life with other responsibilities or hobbies that you may be interested in.
The new Allen & Heath two-channel Xone:23C professional DJ mixer has excellent build quality, an internal USB DJ soundcard with DVS capabilities, Mixvibes LE software, and an X:Link connector to easily link to other Allen & Heath Xone:K series controllers. The Xone:23C is also like a 2+2 channel mixer since it has separate gain knobs for each of the four RCA inputs on the rear of the mixer. Pioneer has just announced the third iteration in their entry level DJ controller called the Pioneer DDJ-WeGO3. Long ago, we reviewed the original DDJ-WeGO and it was a great controller for any new DJ and it had versatility to work with different software. The DDJ-WeGO3 continues where the original left off with a new sleeker design, stronger construction, and an included iOS lightning cable that also charges the iOS device while in use.
Earlier today, Reloop DJ announced their brand new auxiliary DJ controller for Serato DJ called the Reloop Neon. This small pad controller is similar to the recently released Pioneer DDJ-SP1 which also works with Serato DJ but the Reloop Neon is even more compact and is mapped to control all four deck’s pad functions from a single Neon device including: Sampler, Pad FX, Slicer, Looped Slicer, Cue, Flip, Hot Loops, Loop, and Manual Loop.
Allen & Heath’s newest modular MIDI controller called the Xone:K1 is essentially a Xone:K2 MIDI controller but without the built-in stereo soundcard interface and MIDI layering capabilities. The Xone:K1 is a universal MIDI controller that can be mapped/programmed to work with any DJ software and it has six push-button rotary encoder knobs, 12 knobs, four faders, and 30 three-color backlit performance buttons to take precise control over specific software functions. We have a new Xone:K1 in the lab for the full review treatment, but check out the unboxing and first impressions video while we get to work on the official review!
