The new Xone:K1 controller is on hand at the 2014 DJ Expo at the Allen & Heath booth where we have Darren DeSouza giving us the full rundown of what this small but powerful controller has to offer. The Xone:K1 is essentially a Xone:K2 MIDI controller but without the built-in stereo soundcard interface. The Xone:K1 is a universal MIDI controller that can be mapped/programmed to work with any DJ software and it has six push-button rotary encoder knobs, 12 knobs, four faders, and 30 three-color backlit performance buttons to take precise control over specific software functions.

Pioneer DJ has announced that there is a brand new Serato DJ controller coming out next month called the Pioneer DDJ-SX2. The DDJ-SX2 is a new version of the ever-popular DDJ-SX which we reviewed when it was released almost two years ago. The new Pioneer DDJ-SX2 inherits all of the features of the original and adds multi-color RGB backlit Performance pads, hotcue markers on the jog wheel display, Serato Flip controls, and it is Serato DJ DVS compatible right out of the box.
With all of the news surrounding Serato DJ and its newly announced controllers, DVS add-on, and 1.7 upgrade, Traktor is also releasing a few surprises and updates for their DJ's as well. To start things off, Traktor has announced a series of new Remix Sets from Marc Houle, Max Cooper, Wellenrausch, and the Toolroom label. NI is also giving away a free Traktor Pro License with the purchase of any X1 or Z1, and they've also released a new video series called The Future of DJing.

Akai has just announced that they are releasing two brand new modular/mini controllers for the Serato DJ software. The Akai AFX is a small controller that lets users manipulate multi-color RGB performance pads, effects, hotcues, slicer, loops, navigation, and the new Serato Flip expasion while the Akai AMX is a mixer-like device that controls the EQ, filters, headphones, two volume linefaders, a mini-innofader crossfader and DVS Capable RCA inputs and outputs.
