Our own Numark NS7III is now in its way to the DJbooth.net lab for the full unboxing and review/demo treatment by yours truly. In the meantime, Numark has released its own unboxing & setup video as well as a cool Serato DJ performance video to show users what its like spinning on the new NS7III with those three shiny screens that allow DJ’s to finally ditch the laptop screen for good.
The new version of Traktor is now available. The new Traktor 2.10 update provides support for the newly announced Traktor Kontrol S5 and it also includes the required Controller Editor update for the S5. There’s the normal housekeeping items and bug fixes as well. Check out the details after the jump.
NI has sent us two of their newest compact DJ controllers for Traktor called the Traktor Kontrol D2 for the full review treatment. The Traktor Kontrol D2 is essentially the “deck” section of the recently reviewed Traktor Kontrol S8 DJ controller and it sports the same hi-res screen and heavy remix/stem deck control with multicolored backlit pads and volume controls. The D2 and the S8 uses the remix deck controls and screens to manipulate the new Stems file format.
Numark has recently unveiled its newest flagship controller the NS7III. In this newest version, the Numark NS7III has all the same features and layout of the NS7II controller we reviewed last year, but it also adds three new 4.3-inch full-color screens for full track and navigation information without the need to look at the laptop screen. Today, Native Instruments has announced their new controller called the Traktor Kontrol S5. This new controller takes the familiar body, shape, and mixing portions from the popular Traktor Kontrol S4 and removes the jog wheels in favor of screens, touch sensitive controls, and larger pads to work the new Stems file format with ease.
Early this morning Pioneer DJ hit the industry with some serious news. First, the new Rekordbox 4.0 software was revealed as a fully-fledged DJ software that will work with all Pioneer current DJ controllers and players and will soon include upgrade paths for Video plug-ins and DVS plug-ins for vinyl and CD timecode users. Next, the Pioneer team announced two brand new controllers that will work with the new Rekordbox 4.0 software called the Pioneer DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX.

Reloop has just announced their brand new multi-media player called the RMP-4. This new Hybrid Performance Player can play CD’s, USB media, and act as a MIDI controller for playback. The Reloop RMP-4 deck also has advanced features on-board like Slip Mode, Loop Roll, Hot Cues, and eight buttons to control the popular features. Hercules has recently released its newest DJ controller called the DJ Control Jogvision. The Hercules DJ Control Jogvision has metal top jog wheels with LED indicators on them to make it easier to juggle, scratch, and cue the music without looking at the computer screen.
