The Pioneer RMX-500 offers three effect sections, Rhythm FX, Scene FX and Release FX, and the new “Pressure Controller” knobs, which gives a tactile feel when altering the effects. Like it's bigger brother, the RMX-1000, the RMX-500 also works as a USB controller when paired with the bundled plug-in software.

[TVR] JFB & Mr. Switch Pioneer DDJ-SP1 & DJM-900SRT

The Pioneer DJM-900SRT Mixer and the DDJ-SP1 auxiliary controller make for a really strong pairing when used with the new Serato DJ 1.6 software. To prove that this the new mixer and controller combination really gives users complete control over the Serato software when used in a DVS solution, Pioneer has enlisted the assistance of UK DMC Champion JFB and 3X World DMC Champion Mr. Switch to pull off some really creative sets so the masses can see the capabilities.

[Video] DJ Blakey - DDJ-SX Performance

Our good friends over at Pioneer DJ spent some time with DJ Blakey in late 2012 in order to get him familiar with the Pioneer DDJ-SX when it was originally announced. The Pioneer DDJ-SX is still one of the best DJ controllers out on the market today for the full Serato DJ software and there is also a new mapping to use the controller with Traktor Pro 2. Be sure to check out our full HD-Video and written reviews of the Pioneer DDJ-SX and watch the cool performance video below for some mixing inspiration.

[Review] Pioneer S-DJ80X Active Reference Monitor

Pioneer has recently released the new S-DJ X monitor lineup that is affordable and squarely aimed at DJ's who want good performance speakers with a small form factor. The Pioneer S-DJ X range comes in either the five-inch (S-DJ50X), the six-inch (S-DJ60X), or the eight-inch (S-DJ80X) woofer configurations and have an auto on/off mode to save on power when not in use. These speakers are powered internally by an AB amplifier and Pioneer says that the technology in the woofer design and front port found on these speakers improve air flow with “Groove Technology” for deep and vibrant bass. We now have a pair of S-DJ80X monitor speakers in the DJbooth Lab for the full review treatment so check out how they held up during our tests in the review below.

Serato DJ 1.6 Beta Released

Today, Serato DJ released the new 1.6 Beta download to the public which brings all of the other Rane DJ mixers and DVS soundcards up-to-date with the newest Serato DJ features and functions. The Rane SL2, SL3, SL4, Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, and Sixty-Eight can all now reap the benefits of using the new Serato DJ platform instead of the "soon-to-be-retired" Serato Scratch Live software. Remember, this is only a Beta release, so Serato users are warned not to use this software in live performances because its not yet fully tested.
