We’re big fans of the Decksaver Covers which we use to protect DJ and Production gear here at the DJbooth Labs. We have Decksavers for the Stanton ST.150’s, the Traktor Z2 mixer, the NI Maschine Studio, the Vestax VCI-400, and more. Decksaver continues to add to their lineup with new covers being released for various DJ & Production pieces that has been released in the last year including the Pioneer XDJ-1000, Numark NV, and more.

Many people have speculated that a new all-in-one Pioneer DJ Rekordbox player would eventually show up one day… That day is today as Pioneer DJ has just announced their new All-In-One XDJ-RX Rekordbox DJ system. The new system includes a full seven-inch color display which shows parallel waveforms, cue points, track information, and much more. The biggest and most expensive Serato DJ controller on the market has just received the Gold treatment…literally. The flagship Pioneer DDJ-SZ controller is now available in Gold as the DDJ-SZ-N. This is the same exact DDJ-SZ controller that we reviewed a few months ago with a new color. Pioneer will only produce 1000 of these Gold DDJ-SZ-N controllers which will be available shortly at retailers across the globe for the cool price of $2200.
Just because someone is using the lite version of a DJ software doesn’t mean the DJ can’t pull off some great mixing and show some serious skills on these new entry-level DJ controllers that are out there on the market. We reviewed the Pioneer DDJ-SB controller about a year ago and Sam from the Serato team performs a quick routine using only Serato DJ Intro and some of the entry-level controllers that all cost under $300 and are bundled with the software. If you need more horsepower, then the user can upgrade to the full Serato DJ software which has more features.
Now that Pioneer DJ has started making the recently reviewed PLX-1000 turntables to play vinyl, it almost seems like the DJ equipment and culture has come full circle. Pioneer has been taking us all on a trip down memory lane as they continue to release the history of the DJ and the role that particular Pioneer DJ equipment has played in it. Check out part two of this cool video series to see Pioneer’s Mixers and FX and their influence on Famous DJ’s performances.
The new Pioneer PLX-1000 analog DJ turntables have the similar layout and basic features of the iconic Technics 1200’s that DJ’s are familiar with along with some “Super-OEM” turntable DNA and other minor adjustments to set it apart from the others on the market. The PLX-1000 has the Pioneer CDJ looks with the beautiful brushed black finish and silver accents. Check out our full review and comparison video to see how they stack up.
The new Pioneer DDJ-SZ flagship DJ controller is now Virtual DJ compatible… We recently reviewed the Pioneer DDJ-SZ using Serato DJ and had great results. The DDJ-SZ will now ship with a full version copy of Virtual DJ and the full Serato DJ software so that DJ’s can choose exactly how they want to use the super sized device. Virtual DJ has just released a new video performance to show what its powerful software can do with a powerful controller.
