Pioneer DJ is steadily rolling out brand new products that work in perfect harmony with the new Serato DJ Software. Last week they unveiled the new Pioneer DJM-900SRT and the DDJ-SP1 that will work with the new Serato DJ 1.5.0 update and today they announced the new DDJ-SR which is a 2-channel Digital DJ controller that also controls the Serato DJ software. The Pioneer DDJ-SR is essentially a trimmed down two-deck version of the DDJ-SX which controls four decks of Serato DJ. The new DDJ-SR is more compact than the DDJ-SX and adds a new PAD PLUS button that gives the 16-performance pads even more function.
Pioneer DJ is really busy announcing new products lately! This time Pioneer announces the new DDJ-SP1 USB MIDI controller that is designed to work in conjunction with the new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software so users can trigger new effects and samples with the 16 velocity-sensitive performance pads, buttons, and knobs in a nice compact package.
Pioneer DJ has just announced a new Serato DJ 1.5.0 version of its existing DJM-900nexus Mixer called the DJM-900SRT. The new Pioneer DJM-900SRT will still retain all of the cool features of the 900nexus but with an internal Serato DJ Soundcard that is capable of Digital Vinyl Playback of up to four CD or vinyl timecode decks within the full new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software now with DVS control
Serato has just made a huge announcement. The new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software update is now upon us and with it comes digital Vinyl and CDJ control. Serato DJ 1.5.0 will immediately work perfectly with the newly announced Rane Sixty-Four mixer, Pioneer DJM-900SRT mixer, and the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 sub-controller when they are released in October, with all of the SSL soundcards and Rane/Serato certified mixers following suit in November with the release of the Serato DJ 1.6.0 beta.
The folks over at Serato DJ spent some time with Nick Hook to talk shop and to get busy on the Pioneer DDJ-SX with some cool Trap style mixing. The Pioneer DDJ-SX is still the premier DJ controller for the full Serato DJ software and to date it still offers the most control over the extensive features in the Serato DJ software.
Pioneer DJ has just announced its next generation DDJ-WeGO2 compact DJ controller that is essentially the same as the original but adds a new carry-handle that functions as a iPad/iPhone stand and a new Pioneer/Apple lightning cable to connect to the new iOS devices. The new DDJ-WeGO2 looks almost identical to the original DDJ-WeGO, but the added Multi-Purpose Grip and iOS cable are sure to appease many iPad/iPhone users who are looking for a good quality and compact controller to get in on some DJ action.
The new Pioneer S-DJ X lineup of monitor speakers were scattered all around the Pioneer DJ Booth at the 2013 Atlantic City DJ Expo and I was lucky enough to get a full video walk-through of the new speakers directly from the Pioneer staffers. The new affordable S-DJ X monitors come in 5-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch configurations and they sound nice and crisp in person.
