Stanton, (now part of Gibson Audio Division) has teamed up with the Legendary DMC DJ Battle company to bring us an eight-part web video series showing DJ Switch and Cutmaster Swift getting busy on the Stanton STR8-150 turntables and Stanton M.207 two-channel Professional Effects Mixer. The 2013 Online DMC Championships of 2013 are going on right now and the competition is definitely getting intense. Last week I brought you Redmist's Round 4 performance that I thought was a sure-fire win. It turns out that Round 4 is now in the books and Vekked takes top honors with an incredible performance of crisp scratching and a great overall performance. Check out Vekked Round 4's first place performance as he tears it up on the Rane mixer Sixty-Two and a pair of Stanton STR8-150 turntables.

This year at Musikmesse 2013, Stanton has announced that their long standing flagship turntables (the ST-150 and STR8-150) will get new cartridges included in the box for all future production runs. So if someone purchases a Stanton ST-150 (S-tonearm) turntable, they will get a TrackMaster V.3 uni-body cartridge and the buyers of the Stanton STR8-150 (Straight-tonearm) turntable will get the SM V.3 headshell mountable cartridge. Stanton DJ (who is now a division of Gibson Pro Audio) will be on-hand at the NAMM 2013 show this week and DJ Young 1 will be performing in the Stanton Booth (Room # 303AB - Level 3) on Saturday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. DJ Young 1 is only ten years old, but he's already got skills for days. He'll be performing on Stanton's SCS.4DJ Digital Mixstation which we reviewed about two years ago with good results. The new Stanton SCS.4DJ 3.0 Firmware is now available for free download to all current and future SCS.4DJ owners. We spoke to ProfessorXB from the Stanton Team who breaks down all the new improvements found on the unit. The new improvements are so drastic, that we had to go re-visit and update the review with these findings which greatly improve the usability of the unit. While I was at the 2012 DJ Expo in Atlantic City, I stumbled by the Stanton DJ Booth and caught wind of an exclusive new update for the popular all-in-one mixstation; the Stanton SCS.4DJ. The SCS.4DJ has a new 3.0 firmware upgrade release that will add some new functions including hot cues and upgrades some other features such as faster performance and better beat-grid and BPM sync options.
