Pioneer DJ has just announced a new Serato DJ 1.5.0 version of its existing DJM-900nexus Mixer called the DJM-900SRT. The new Pioneer DJM-900SRT will still retain all of the cool features of the 900nexus but with an internal Serato DJ Soundcard that is capable of Digital Vinyl Playback of up to four CD or vinyl timecode decks within the full new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software now with DVS control
Now that the Serato DJ 1.5.0 cat is out of the bag, the Rane Sixty-Four Serato DJ certified Mixer has also been announced. The new Rane Sixty-Four Mixer will be one of two mixers out on the market in October that will work perfectly with the new Serato DJ 1.5.0 DJ software right out of the box. The Sixty-Four Mixer sports dual USB ports for easy DJ changes, on-board effects, Serato DJ MIDI controls, and can support up to four external Serato NoiseMap Vinyl/CD control decks at once.
The winner of the 2013 Online DMC Championships Round 9 has been announced by the DMC judges. The performance which took top honors this week was DJ Jooce from Canada who does some serious scratching and juggling in a great champion-worthy performance.
Every year, Pioneer DJ has the biggest and best exhibit in all of the DJ Expo Land. This year, Pioneer has its entire new lineup of controllers, CDJ's, mixers, and speakers on-had for everyone to use and purchase. The new DJM-750 four-channel mixer was on display with a set of CDJ-850's. The platinum limited edition Nexus setup also made an appearance. The XDJ-R1, DDJ-SX, and S-DJ X speaker lineup were all setup and ready to go and we have an exclusive S-DJ X speaker walkthrough coming shortly.
The Gibson Pro Audio group (Stanton, Cerwin Vega, and KRK) are also in the house at the Atlantic City DJ Expo and we are there to show you what they've got for us. First off, they had the Stanton CMP.800, the SCS.4DJ, the DJC.4, and so much more. Everything was on display ready to use for any who wish to do so. Also in the booth were the entire line of KRK Studio Monitors and the Cerwin Vega speaker and subwoofer line. DJ Premier rocked the house on Tuesday, and Biz Markie is stopping by later today!
Virtual DJ was back at the Atlantic City DJ Expo this year with lots of different manufacturer controllers as almost all DJ controllers out there come with one version of VDJ or another. And as such, almost every manufacturer had their gear on display at the VDJ booth so that they can show how versatile the software truly is. There were Numark Mixtrack Quad controllers, Mixtrack Edge Controllers, Pioneer CDJ's, Stanton gear, and so much more. Oh and VDJ8 was there as well.
Our good friends over at American Music and Sound were once again showing off their goodies at the 2013 DJ Expo with their Lineup of Reloop gear, Vestax controllers and Allen & Heath Mixers. We were also able to catch DJ Angelo from the UK ripping it up on the new US-Bound Reloop RP-6000mk6 Super OEM turntables and RMX-80 mixer that will be available state-side immediately! The Vestax Typoon and professional VCI-380 and VCI-400 controllers were in the booth along with the Allen & Heath Mixer range.
The Vestax VCI-380 is a great Serato DJ controller with a rock solid build quality, standalone mixer mode, and a nice intuitive multipurpose pad section. We reviewed the VCI-380 last year here at the DJbooth.net lab and it was a clear winner from the start. Vestax has now released a new White edition VCI-380 and a Red Edition VCI-380 in limited quantities, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled if you're looking for a new VCI-380 as you may be lucky enough to find it in one of these rare colors.
