A few short weeks ago, information surfaced from a popular DJ equipment sales site regarding a brand new Traktor X1 controller that was set to be released by NI the end of this summer. The rumors are now confirmed as the new Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 has officially been announced by Native Instruments on Monday.
We've had the Traktor Kontrol Z1 mixing console interface in the DJbooth.net Lab for to test it out with the Traktor DJ App and the Traktor Pro and LE software. Check out the results in the full HD-Video and written review to see if this is the option for you. (The Traktor Kontrol Z1 is available now for $199 and comes bundled with Traktor LE for computer connectivity. The Traktor DJ App is now FREE from the App Store.)
Late last week, Native Instruments announced the third and final price-drop of its long-standing flagship 4-deck Digital DJ Controller called the Traktor Kontrol S4. I call this the third and final price-drop because NI has listed this offer to last from now until August 31st OR until stocks last. The writing has been on the wall for a fresh new round of all-in-one DJ controllers since the release of Traktor 2.5 and the remix deck functionality that the S2/S4 could never really take advantage of. The S4 is still a very capable DJ controller that also has a built in Traktor DJ Soundcard that allows DJ's to playback timecode vinyl or CD's with external turntables or CD decks. Take advantage of this sweet deal while you still can.
With the introduction of Traktor 2.5 last year, the Remix Decks are the new ways DJ's can perform like producers in real-time while beatmashing and remixing with different sounds, loops, and effects. The Remix Decks originally came with a few beginner Remix sets to get users started, but NI has made sure to keep releasing Fresh and New Remix Sets for users to play with all for a small fee. The five new Remix Sets in this latest release are available on Beatport and What People Play and contains sets from Fatboy Slim, Steve Aoki, Daniel Dexter, and more. Last week, (only a day after the Traktor Z1 was announced) the popular DJ Equipment website PSSL accidentally posted a new product by Native Instruments which appears to be the Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2. The original Traktor Kontrol X1 came out a few years ago and is commonly used by Traktor DJ's as a playback companion controller with DVS setups or other mixing consoles. The updated X1 has most of the same functions as the original with a few new additions including RGB backlit buttons for Remix Deck control, Flux Mode buttons, a Touch Sensitive Strip for beatmatching/nudging and much more.
Hot off the heels of this month's Traktor Kontrol Z2 discount offer from Native Instruments, the Traktor Kontrol Z1 portable mixer and interface has just been announced. The Traktor Kontrol Z1 is a compact two-channel mixer that works seamlessly with both the Traktor DJ App for portable and "on-the-go" mixing with the iPad, iPad mini, iPhone, or iPod Touch and the Traktor Pro/LE DJ software for desktop/laptop control. Check out the full press release, introduction video, and my thoughts after the jump.
The Pioneer DJM-T1 is a heavy-duty Traktor Scratch Certified two-channel professional-grade DJ mixer with built in Traktor MIDI controls for many of the advanced DJ software features such as loop, samples, hot cues, effects and much more. The Pioneer DJM-T1 exhibits all of the classic and well-known Pioneer Mixer build quality with a full-metal chassis, sturdy faders, and reinforced knobs. The Traktor Kontrol Z2 is currently my weapon of choice for my own DJ gigs and personal everyday mixing and scratching routines. The Z2 is a nicely built mixer with everything users need to get started with a full Traktor Digital Vinyl System including the timecode vinyl/CD's and the full Traktor Pro 2 software right in the box. Users only need to supply a compatible computer, CD decks or turntables, and music files to start spinning. NI has just announced a new Z2 'Happy Hour' Sale which drops the price to only $599 from now until June 30th. Check out my review and press release after the jump.
