The NI Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 is a compact and modular Digital DJ controller that was built specifically for the full Traktor Pro 2 software that allows DJ’s to control file navigation, effects, loops, hotcues, Flux Mode, and other playback properties. The Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 is the second iteration of the original X1 with some minor layout changes and the addition of a touch strip and loop counter readout that allows DJ’s to take even more control of their mixing than ever before. Watch our full review video for the complete rundown.
The new Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 has now shipped from Native Instruments to our very own DJbooth.net lab for the full written and video review treatment. The new Traktor X1 has most of the same functions as the original X1 but adds a new touch-strip section in the middle of the unit that can control effects parameters, nudging for beatmatching, and for jumping to a particular section in a song. The review is on the way, but watch the unboxing video to see the new X1 MK2 fresh out of the box.
Calling all DJ's!!! We want your feedback! We need DJ's like you to answer a few short questions about the way you DJ, how you DJ, and what you DJ with on a regular basis in order to help companies better understand the direction of the industry. We will randomly select a survey participant for the excellent grand prize in the form of a Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ Controller, (2) Stanton ST-150 Super-OEM turntables, and a Traktor Scratch Package to bring it all together for some DVS timecode fun!
The Traktor Kontrol S2 Digital DJ controller is now near the end of it's product run as Native Instruments slashes the price before making space in their warehouses for the "future". Following the final pricedrop of the Traktor S4, the S2 is now also on sale for only $399. We reviewed the Traktor Kontrol S2 about two years ago and its still a VERY formidable controller for any DJ who needs a great compact controller for Traktor Pro.
Just as I'm heading out the door to drive less than an hour away to the DJ Expo in Atlantic City, Native Instruments sends me a new press release about their new Traktor DJ Cable. The Traktor DJ Cable is now available for only $19.99 and it works as a DJ splitter cable which turns one eighth-inch output into two separate output sockets. This is imperative for DJ's as one output is used to cue (or pre-listen) to the music in the headphones while the audience listens to the master output through the speakers.
The new Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 has now shipped from Native Instruments to a local DJ gear store near you. The new Traktor X1 has most of the same functions as the original X1 including cue points, browse/load controls, effects, and loops, but adds a new touch-strip section in the middle of the unit that can control effects parameters, nudging for beatmatching, and for jumping to a particular section in a song. Our full review is on the way, but check out Felix Da Housecat using the X1 in this new NI demo.
Native Instruments releases five new Remix sets for Traktor DJ's to get busy with. The new releases include sets from contains sets from Tiga & Jori Hulkkonen, Moguai, Benjamin Damage, Pirupa and more.
Just a few short hours ago, I jumped on the Stanton ST-150 turntables and the trusty Z2 Mixer for a quick freestyle session and I had my camera rolling to show you all some mixing love. Every month I will complete a quick freestyle DJ session while choosing songs from my newest Monthly Mixtape series called "DJ Blaze - Blazing Cuts". My Blazing Cuts mixtape series consists of the hottest tracks that I chose for a particular month from the numerous songs on featured on DJbooth.net. Check out my quick freestyle video session and download my latest July 2013 mixtape.
