Reloop has just announced their new four-deck flagship controller called the Terminal Mix 8 at this year's NAMM show. The Terminal Mix 8 looks to have much of the same DNA as the successful Terminal Mix 4, while adding 16 Multi-color back-lit Velocity Sensitive Performance Pads for functions within Serato DJ such as hot cues, loops, samples, and slicer. The pads can also be divided into two parts so the user can use the top row of pads for one function such as loops while the bottom row of pads can control another function such as hot cues.
The Serato just keeps getting better and better with the release of new software and hardware upgrades popping up regularly. Serato DJ has just announced the integration of Pitch 'N Time DJ which will allow users to drastically alter the speed of a track without changing the pitch. There's also a new Jet Pack FX Expansion pack that will give DJ's new rave-style effects such as UFO, Space Verb, and Noise Pulse. These new additions will be available in February with the release of the full Serato DJ 1.6 software.
The Pioneer DJ Division has just announced it's new Flagship Serato DJ controller called the Pioneer DDJ-SZ. Today, Serato DJ released the new 1.6 Beta download to the public which brings all of the other Rane DJ mixers and DVS soundcards up-to-date with the newest Serato DJ features and functions. The Rane SL2, SL3, SL4, Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, and Sixty-Eight can all now reap the benefits of using the new Serato DJ platform instead of the "soon-to-be-retired" Serato Scratch Live software. Remember, this is only a Beta release, so Serato users are warned not to use this software in live performances because its not yet fully tested.
