Here at DJbooth.net don't really like to report on gimmick iOS style DJ devices, software, or accessories just because something sells well or has a large fan base. We rather bring you the top-performers in the iOS DJ segment as manufacturers try to find their footing with these relatively new DJ devices. One very powerful iOS DJ App that stands out from the rest in terms of performance, accuracy, and function is known as the DJ Player App.
The 2013 Online DMC Championships are starting to wind down with the top-three Round 6 finalists being announced by the DMC judges. A few months ago, we took a look at the Rane Sixty-One mixer which was a good follow-up to the TTM series mixers but still lacked some of the on-board MIDI controls and features that DJ’s need to control their Digital performance. So we’ve stepped it up to the next level with this review of the new Rane Sixty-Two-Z mixer review that promises to deliver on the same quality front, but also providing users with even more digital and analog flexibility than ever before.
The 2013 Online DMC Championships are going on right now and the competition is getting tight. A few weeks ago I brought you Vekked's Round 4 winning performance that was simply amazing. This week the DMC online Round 5 Winner has been announced as Cancer the Crab! Check out the Cancer the Crab Round 5 first place performance as he puts in work on the Rane TTM-56S Mixer and a pair of classic Technics 1200 turntables.
The Numark NS7 has been out on the market for over 3 years now, but its still one of my favorite controllers to use with Serato as its still the only controller that contains actively spinning platters and a mixing console all in one single unit. During DJ Esco's written review, we loved the build quality, excellent vinyl feel on the platters, and a high quality mixing section to round out the package. The NS7 now gets a free software upgrade from Serato Itch to the new and improved Serato DJ and DJ CXL is in the Numark Studio to give a quick demo video of the new look and features. Check out the performance video and the (throwback) NS7 written review.
Stanton, (now part of Gibson Audio Division) has teamed up with the Legendary DMC DJ Battle company to bring us an eight-part web video series showing DJ Switch and Cutmaster Swift getting busy on the Stanton STR8-150 turntables and Stanton M.207 two-channel Professional Effects Mixer. The videos also go into the details of their sets and why the professional Stanton DJ gear gets the job done nicely. Check out this quick web-series after the jump.
