[TVR] Chris Karns - How To Set A Trap

For this week's Turntablist Video Friday series we'll see Chris Karns (2013 Master of the Mix Competitor, 2011 DMC USA & World Champion, 3x Red Bull Thre3style Winner, and touring DJ For Yelawolf) ripping it up on the Technics 1200's along with a Rane Sixty-Two mixer and the Serato DJ software. 2013 Boom DJ Battle

This year's 2013 Boom DJ Battle promises to be a great event for DJ's or anyone who loves music and simply wants to have a great time. The Boom DJ Battle is the country's largest under 21 DJ competition that has the top young DJ talent all over the country compete against one another for Boom DJ Supremacy. The registration for the contest is now open to all DJ's ages 14-21 with registration closing on Thursday May 30th. Finalists will be chosen on June 3rd and the final competition and other festivities will be held at Toyota park on June 15th 2013 at the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash. Details inside.

[Video] Serato DJ with Numark NS6

The Numark NS6 has been out on the market for almost two years now, but its still one of my favorite controllers to use with Serato. During our HD-Video review, we loved the build quality, tight jog wheels, and excellent fader feel along with the plethora of input and output options that are available to the users. The NS6 now gets a free software upgrade from Serato Itch to the new and improved Serato DJ and DJ CXL is in the Numark Studio to give a quick demo video of the new look and features. [TVF] DJ S-TRIX with Vestax

DJ S-TRIX was in the house at the Vestax DJ Booth in Frankfurt, Germany for the Musikmesse 2013 show two weeks ago. Not only was he on-hand in the show booth, but he was in the actual DJbooth putting it down something serious on two Vestax PDX-3000 turntables and the Vestax PMC-05ProIV mixer. Stanton ST.150 & STR8-150 Gets New Cartridges

This year at Musikmesse 2013, Stanton has announced that their long standing flagship turntables (the ST-150 and STR8-150) will get new cartridges included in the box for all future production runs. So if someone purchases a Stanton ST-150 (S-tonearm) turntable, they will get a TrackMaster V.3 uni-body cartridge and the buyers of the Stanton STR8-150 (Straight-tonearm) turntable will get the SM V.3 headshell mountable cartridge. [Video] DJ Shiftee Takes on Traktor DJ

The Traktor DJ App for the iPad has been out for a few months now and DJ's are finally starting to find their own with the software and make some cool mashups and remixes using this compact setup. DJ Shiftee, who always does his thing on the Traktor gear videos, has now released his Demo video of him getting busy with the Traktor DJ App on the go in the streets of Berlin. Check out what DJ Shiftee was able to come up with and then get out there and come up with your own trickery on the Traktor DJ App.

2013 DMC American Battleground

The DMC World DJ competition is celebrating 30 years of staging the greatest turntablist battles of all time and with it comes LOTS of festivities all across the United States that serve as both competition and showcases. This year, there will be many previous champion DJ's traveling around the US to both show off the skills and to host the regional competitions that will lead up to the DMC US finals on August 3rd in NYC. Check out the full list of events and competition rounds inside so you can either join or get involved with the festivities.

Qbert and DJ Craze are two of my personal favorite DJ's in the whole wide world. They have been killing the scratch/turntablist game for years and years and they both hold three DMC World titles each. Native Instruments has teamed up with Qbert and DJ Craze to bring an excellent Limited Edition Traktor Control Vinyl Set with exclusive sounds on side A (one with samples from Qbert and one with beats by Craze) and Traktor Scratch timecode on side B.
