Pioneer DJ has recently released the XDJ-R1 which is an all-in-one multi-media playback device and we now have one in the DJbooth.net Lab for the full review treatment. DJ’s can now control the mixing, volume, fading and other functions of the XDJ-R1 from way across the room using an IOS device running the new Remotebox App. The XDJ-R1 is a very versatile playback device with CD slots, USB ports (both for MIDI software control or for Flash/Hard Drive playback), and dual screens for a true standalone capability. Watch the unboxing video today and stay tuned for the review coming soon.
We’re here at the Atlantic City DJ Expo at the Trump Taj Mahal Convention Center and we’ve got loads of HD-Video coverage to show you all, so keep it locked right here for the next 24-hours! Styleflip has been customizing DJbooth.net DJ gear for over two years now and its about time that we’ve went ahead and customized another piece to show everyone what Styleflip is all about. Basically, users can log onto the Styleflip.com website, find the template of the electronic device you want to customize, and create a custom (heavy-duty) vinyl skin using texts, uploads, and custom colors to make your gear stand out from the crowd. We’ve used Styleflip.com for our Korg KM-202 and Vestax PMC-05proIII and now we’re happy to bring you a quick install video on our Vestax PMC-05proIV to show everyone just how easy and simple it really is to Styleflip your gear.
Numark has something for the “old-school” rack-mount dual CD Deck DJ’s for NAMM 2011 as well. Introducing the newest dual rack-mount CD Deck called the Numark CDN77USB. The USB part is obviously added to the name so that DJ’s can use USB drives for audio playback instead of using only CD’s. This is a welcomed update for mobile DJ’s who want to still play their CD’s, but also want the option to add tracks directly from their computers via USB flash drives. Press release and pricing details inside.
The DJbooth.net team was on-hand at the DJ Expo last week and we are bringing you the full GCI Technologies (Gemini, Cortex, and iKey-Audio) booth video so that everyone who couldn’t make it out has a chance to see the whole setup in Atlantic City. Video inside.
Magma DJ Solutions is bringing us the new Switchbox V2 that makes it a lot easier for DJ’s to switch between two different Software/Computer-controlled setups while being able to use the same Mixer. This would make it so DJ’s at clubs won’t have to disconnect and reconnect cables to a Mixer when they want to switch their control interface or if there are multiple DJ’s working the same gig (i.e. turntablist battles)..
