Best R&B Album of 2008

Year of the Gentleman

Reader's Pick:
Ne-Yo - “Year of the Gentleman”
The world will never see another Michael Jackson (thank Jesus), but Ne-Yo's impeccably smooth Year of the Gentleman brought back tastes of MJ's pop perfection while continuing to develop his distinctively narrative style. Ne-Yo firmly seized the King of R&B title in 2008, and Year of the Gentleman was his crown.

Runner Up:
John Legend - “Evolver”

DJ Booth Staff Pick:
Ne-Yo - “Year of the Gentleman”

Track 4 "Mad" pretty much sums up why this is the top album.

He ran away with this one. No competition at all.

Probably the best R&B album since Usher's Confessions. It speaks volumes when the tracks you leave out of a album could of been major hits as well.

This was the most lopsided category. Ne-Yo won by a landslide. Haha.

@ MuzzieBoi - Ne-Yo's stuff gets leaked by others. It;s 90% demo work for other artists. Its too bad, too.

Easy decision, hands down. Ne-Yo continues his three album streak and Year Of The Gentleman was a nice release, R&B album of the year.

Akon to me should of got some recognition, besides this man had a amazing Cd.Every song on there is a raw, i cant wait until more of his music will be put out there on the radios. This is one of the most unappreciated and underrated artist in the game right now. He makes solid records & Cd's, makes mix tapes consistently, is on every hook, produces many artist work(Kardinall Official, New Kids on the Block, Rock City,Ray Lavender,T-pain, Keri Hilson, Rhianna, and many more) He has even made songs with legends like Pac, Notorious BIG,and Micheal Jackson. Can someone open their eyes and see that this man is still producing joints to this very day with almost every artist!!!hes to raw.
