The DJ Booth… We never miss a beat…

Best Club Anthem of 2008

Lil Wayne

Reader's Pick:
Lil Wayne – A Milli
On his hookless hit, “A Milli,” Weezy free-associated his way into the national consciousness, creating a club anthem that proved inescapable in '08. The record will be remembered above all for featuring “the beat that launched a thousand freestyles;” Bangladesh's trendsetting production inspired big names and ambitious up-and-comers alike to put their own lyrical skills to the test.

Runner Up:
Kanye West – Heartless

DJ Booth Staff Pick:
Kardinal Offishall ft. Akon – Dangerous

I still PERSONALLY think it should go to Kanye (but I guess that's the more intelligent club heads who dig that). For the rest, A Milli did the job.

Another song that wasn't my pick, but deserves the win. Lil Wayne had everyone's eyes on him this year, and this song was one of the reasons.

A Milli is a worthy winner of this, though i still think Say Yea by Wiz Khalifa was the club anthem of the year, just my opinion anyway

Wiz Khalifa's song had the potential to be the CLUB ANTHEM of the year, but it didn't get the push it needed to stick around long enough.

Never did I see anyone not embrace "Dangerous" when it dropped - the women LOVE this song.

A Milli was nice when it first came out but its not really a good club song. I would much rather get loose to Dangerous or Make It Hot. But I guess thats how it goes when Lil' Wayne coming out with so much songs right now

Don't think A Milli was a club banger, saw it more as a street cut. If anything, I'd say they put Weezy's Got Money under this section, anyway it was a crazy track that tons of people remixed and had great success. My personal pick was Kanye's "Heartless" because they had club banger written all over hit and the hook is really adventurous, showing Kanye's creativity that has lacked in rap/rnb/pop lately.

"Got Money"-by lil wayne should get the club anthem of 2008, the song was everywhere, got more play than a millie, and it was hot in every club cuz Pain in it.
