Best Crossover Record of 2008

T.I.

Reader's Pick:
T.I. ft. Rihanna - Live Your Life
Who would have guessed that the most uplifting crossover hit of '08 would take its inspiration from “Dragostea din tei?” On “Live Your Life,” T.I. teamed up with Rihanna to put an anthemic spin on the “Numa Numa” song, and the result was yet another monster single for the Paper Trail emcee.

Runner Up:
Lupe Fiasco ft. Nikki Jean – Hip Hop Saved My Life

DJ Booth Staff Pick:
Busta Rhymes ft. Linkin Park – We Made It

I am a big Lupe fan, but TI deserves this one. Live your Life was on every radio station, blog, award show, music channel etc. It it the definition of a crossover record.

Numa Numa sample, Just Blaze, Rihanna and T.I. Whole record is a serious WTF. I loved the Lupe song, but I really have to give props to T.I. for this one.

@ Mr.Top Hat - If a song gets massive airplay in multiple countries - especially those who don't normally play T.I. songs - you can't get much more crossover than that...

Agreed with Z, Australia are reacting like he's a new up & coming rapper, which is obviously wrong, but thats a cross-over hit were your getting big reactions from new markets

Tip deserved this, Lupe's single I thought was better, but I don't think it had as great of crossover success. The crazy Just Blaze production was anthemic and with Rihanna on the hook, there was no denying the success on this one.
