Best Hip Hop Album (Mainstream) of 2010

Reader's Pick

Eminem

Eminem "Recovery"

Recovery? More like complete and total domination. After years battling a drug addiction, Eminem came back better and stronger than ever in 2010 with his platinum album Recovery, a project that not only (re)established Em as one of the fiercest lyricists in the game but a rapper capable of creating a plethora of number one hits. Can the man formerly known as Slim Shady top himself in 2011? It's a monumental task, but if anyone can do it....

Staff Pick

Kanye West

Kanye West "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"

There was really only one choice here. Kanye West's insanely anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was much more than an album, it was a cultural force, an album whose surrounding Good Friday series dominated headlines for months. (We know, we know, as if Yeezy's ego wasn't already big enough.) Add in the first five star rating in DJBooth history and there was never really any doubt that Mr. West's Dark Twisted Fantasy would take top honors in 2010.

Just what is it about "Recovery" that people like so much??? "Relapse" was so much better. I don't mean to sound rude here but if you think that "Recovery" is better than "MBDTF" then you're opinion doesn't even matter.

I just recently listened to Bun B's album and guess what? He really killed it. Great competition for this award.

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" was the obvious winner.

Other worthwhile mentions include "Distant Relatives", "Wake Up" and "Sir Luscious Left Foot."

This was a great year for music.

Completely agree with DJ Baer. Now I know what "So Appalled" was about. This shit is @*#$! ridiculous.

I've you voted for Recovery, you are a clown. Straight up.

1. Sir Lucious Leftfoot - because each of the songs just flowed together so well. Gucci Mane was the only blemish on the whole album.

2. Recovery - C'mon. Do I really have to explain?

3. Distant Relatives - All the songs were awesome. Just not as good as Recovery and Big Boi's Album.

4. MBDTF - I wasn't very impressed with this album. There was just so much hype about it. This is just not a classic album. It had way too many pre released songs. But don't get me wrong I really like this album.

5. Trill O.G. - I like this album but some of features were bad. But still a good album.
