Back on January 1, 2010, The DJBooth hosted Trunk Muzik, an independently-released street album from an Alabama emcee named Yelawolf. Fast forward 50 or so features over three plus years and the artist born Michael Wayne Atha has released the project's proper sequel, Trunk Muzik Returns.
The free 10-track project, which is once again produced in-full by Booth-favorite WillPower (for SupaHotBeats), includes reader-approved singles "Way Out," "F.A.S.T RIDE" and "Gangster," and special guest appearances by A$AP Rocky, Killer Mike, Paul Wall and Raekwon.

Yelawolf ft. A$AP Rocky & Big Henry - Gangster
While many rappers would have you believe that they were Gangster since they came out the uterus, the truth is that G’s are largely products of the cold world in which they came up. On Yelawolf‘s latest mixtape...Read More
Yelawolf - F.A.S.T RIDE
Earlier this month, the Booth’s own DJ Z coined the term “space street banger” to describe the eclectic style Yelawolf and WillPower exhibited on Trunk Muzik Returns lead single Way Out. Now that the Alabama-repping...Read More
Yelawolf - Way Out
Nothing helps an artist get the word out about a new project more than a blazing hot lead single, and nobody knows this better than the Shady/Interscope young gun, Yelawolf. On the lead single off Trunk Muzik Returns (the...Read More

Been following Yela for a while now and "wow" how he's evolved. Michael goes hard for A again. If you don't know much bout Yela don't judge completely based off this tape. He has a versatile voice. After listening to these tracks take the time to pull up his earlier compositions and compare and contrast where he was to now. The overly simple choruses on a few of the tracks let me down. The beats are hot and the verses speak for themselves. 4 Stars. Hope 'Love Story' can impress.

This is an incredible album. From start to finish, Wolf and SupahotBeats have constructed a masterpiece. This album captures Wolf at his most creative point and his heart felt direction is untouchable. DAMN.

This album is timeless. So diverse but so seamlessly dope from start to finish. 5/5 without hesitation.
Thanks Yela- definitely worth the wait. "Way Out" "Gangster" "Catfish Billy" "Fame" "Tennessee Love" ....all Classic tracks. The rest are super-dope ass funky/fun shit to party to. Incredible album. Will Power and Yelawolf are the TEAM. |

This should get a 5/5 just for the unique vibe and sound that Yelawolf and WillPower have created... It's in a lane of its own = Southern Space Rap!
As a rapper/ producer duo, you really get the feeling that they've come together on this to push the boundaries. This is what makes them stand out as musicians and not just another cookie cutter rap act. My only reservation is that, I can't help but feel that the upbeat bangers which I love Yelawolf for (as seen on Trunk Muzik 0-60) are missing this time around. But, that's just an after thought. At the end of the day, as a stand alone piece of art, this is incredible! |

Box Chevy 4 was a disappointment. Yelawolf should have ended it after 3 if he was going to make 4 such crap. Other than that song though, the tape is great. Great production, great rapping. What should have happened back on radioactive.

This is the first full record I've heard from Yela...really impressed by his ability to keep a rough, urgent sound in his quick flows. He's got this vibe that just calls for me to listen. I thought some of the themes and concepts in the songs were creative and definitely different from what a lot of rappers regularly talk about. Some of the beats are fire and mixed with his fire flow...mayne that's some good ish.

What in the hell is @Caroline Talkin about?? I'm sorry that's what you got from it. Frankly, it's epically one of the most original Records I've heard with in depth lyrical tie-ins with Great artistry, And the Music-side..Same. But thats my opinion folks #Slumerican

Rhyme Room. Nuff' Said. Yelawolf kills the track pouring his soul into the lyric he delivers. This is what I've been playing to introduce people to Yelawolf. Stamped by Eminem himself.

A$AP was nice. Ain't his tape though. Where's the Trunk Muzik Yela at? His album was a no go as well.
