Ohio singer/songwriter/producer D1 has come together with The DJBooth to bring listeners his latest street release, the Political Love Story EP.
The follow-up to March's Soul Blue tape, the EP is a conceptual project telling the story of teenager inspired to enlist in the military after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Included among its six tracks is reader-approved lead single "A Patriot's Act." Fellow Columbus native Copywrite joins D1 on "Fall in Line," as the project’s only guest feature. D1 produces the entire project, enlisting instrumental support from guitarist Jorge Gavidia, bassist G Koop and keyboardist Kate Hillson.
Not pushing the political agenda of Democrats nor Republicans, Political Love Story is a call to arms on rallying the public to seek truth and putting an end to blind patriotism.

Such a well put together album. I feel like it's rare to hear projects with an actual storyline anymore, and it's is a big reason why this type of EP draws me right in.. Every track on here has insane replay value, and Copywrite does a really sick feature on it! Def gonna be in rotation on my mp3 player for a good while. 10/10

Really feeling all the instruments on the tracks from everyone involved. Every track is pretty solid. A Patriot's Act is probably my favorite. The piano is dope on that.

This album is nice. The tracks are different and they all sound dope. I like tracks 3 and 4 the most. I'm glad I have the option to download this because i'm feeling it 100%

Substance, intelligence, truth, and an extremely revelant message to our society and it's complacency towards anything other than personal or media-related convictions. Musically, it is haunting and functions as an excellent counterpart to the message. The music sounds dark and "drowning-like," in a GOOD and purposeful way!

"I got this weight on my shoulders, and i... think we're in trouble" (From "A Patriots Act")... I just recently became a fan of D1 after getting the SOUL BLUE mixtape, which i am still taking in, and enjoying, now comes this new EP Political Love Story... perfect timing... i am not a fan of reviewing music right when i get it because for the most part the songs that i may not love upon first listen may grow on me and be the ones that i listen to and keep in rotation for years, with that being said, i have heard "A Patriots Act" a few times now and this song is one word, EPIC! and all of the music on here is beautifully produced, and the quote that i quoted to start this review is delivered with such urgency and sets the tone for this release and the importance of it... "Change" really picks up the pace come track 4 if the songs are not moving fast enough for u on first listen hang in there for that one, the subject matter is very heavy this is a lot to take in, trying to listen to the production and the lyrics at the same time i am missing a lot from either end at any given time and i will not fully absorb this for some time, but with that being said, for the aspects of it that i have been able to take away from it on first listen, definitely sure that this is a classic and a 5 star if not 6 starts for A Patriots Act and Change alone so i will give it that rating right now

another solid and great release from d1! you can hear his progression as an artist from Soul Blue to PLS, so if you were a fan of Soul Blue, you'll definitely like this!
